Blake Shelton Hosted The Historic Opry 100 Celebration
Blake Shelton was the host of Opry 100 but also performed “Pickup Man” live.
This performance was in partnership with Trace Adkins and Clint Black for a “Party Jam” mashup of ’90s country favorites.
Black sang the 1998 hit “Nothin’ but the Taillights,” and Adkins performed “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing.” Watch a portion of the mashup below.
The Performance You Missed
The incredible performances I witnessed at the Opry 100 celebration barely hint at the full magnificence of this country music extravaganza!
Carrie Underwood’s heartfelt tribute to Randy Travis moved me to tears, while the unexpected collaboration between Post Malone and Travis Tritt had everyone on their feet dancing. Without a doubt, this extraordinary night has earned its place in country music history.
As the NBC and Peacock broadcast drew to a close, over 50 Grand Ole Opry members gathered on stage in a powerful moment of unity, performing Dolly Parton’s iconic “I Will Always Love You.” The emotional tribute was beautifully led by Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood, with stars like Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire lending their remarkable voices to the chorus.
What television viewers missed, however, was the magical finale that followed. Those fortunate enough to attend in person were treated to an absolutely spine-tingling rendition of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” performed by the entire assembly of country music legends.
If you’re feeling as disappointed as I was about missing this special moment, don’t worry! According to the Grand Ole Opry’s Instagram, you can now experience this previously unseen performance by streaming the complete Opry 100 celebration on Peacock.
